Everyone will have a unique response to any particular event. Whilst no individual reaction is right or wrong, some reactions are more positive and helpful, whereas other reactions may worsen people's problems and produce a vicious cycle.
If someone feels depressed or low, they may react by losing confidence in their own abilities. This can be seen at work where they might give up and stop trying when things get tough. But this reaction has the effect of worsening mood and reducing confidence and self-esteem even further.
Similarly, people who feel anxious or panicky when faced by problems are usually less productive and perform less effectively than others who remain calm and prioritise their workload. Again, as the individual grows more panicky, their problems spiral even further out of control.
Resilient Minds uses 10 Minute CBT techniques to train people to identify their own unique thoughts, emotions and behaviours, which arise during difficult situations, and then decide whether these responses are rational or helpful in achieving specific goals.
This increased insight into their own reactions enables people to make choices about how to respond to different circumstances. 10 Minute CBT also teaches simple yet highly effective techniques enabling people to change any negative thoughts or counter-productive behaviours. This leads to an improvement in emotional symptoms and empowers people to live fulfilling, productive lives.
